Don’t vote for candidates who only complain

If there is one thing I’ve learned from the modern Trump party, besides that appeals to racism are shockingly effective with a quarter of Americans, it is that repetition is more important than nuance. With that in mind, I may be repeating myself a bit here in this last missive before the election, but so be it. If NBC can do a story every, single, night on inflation without ever mentioning record corporate profits, I can repeat an important point or two.

The Republican party is running this year, almost exclusively, on three things: inflation, crime, and immigration. By “running on”, of course, I mean complaining endlessly, faking outrage, fear-mongering, and offering no solutions whatsoever while hoping that everyone forgets about Donald Trump, women’s rights, and the end of American democracy. The mainstream media has been largely complicit in this absurd farce, running only negative stories that follow the approved right-wing narrative and ignoring voter concerns about political violence, voter suppression, gun violence, prescription drug prices, climate change, censorship, LGBTQ rights, reproductive rights, and labor … all areas where the majority trust the Democratic party more.

The true absurdity of this party-line fixation on Republican talking points is laid bare when one also…
